An assessment to determine the resident's specific level of care will
be made upon admission and is continuously monitored during the stay.

| Assisted Living
57 apartments in St. Mary's Manor are designed for assisted living

Because the spiritual needs of the residents are important to us.
We have a beautiful, tranquil chapel and a supportive pastoral care
staff is available to residents and family members.

Social Services
A qualified, full-time social worker is on staff to ease the transition
for both resident and family to the new living facility. The social

needs of all residents and members of the immediate family.

Recreation Services
St. Mary's Manor believes staying active and having fun are important
parts of being healthy. The activity staff provide a full and wide
range of activities that are tailored to individual resident and group
interests. Our daily exercise program enhances our residents' physical
and mental health. As a part of our intergenerational program, preschool
and school age children frequently visit the manor to share in resident
activities. The St. Mary's Manor Movie and Popcorn Theatre
entertains residents several days a week. The soda shop, our portable
ice cream parlor, provides time to mingle with fellow residents while
enjoying a refreshing ice cream sundae.

Pet Therapy
Research over the years has shown there is a strong correlation between
pet ownership and improved health. In fact, in one study, most people
said that when they are stressed or worried, playing with ,or confiding
in the pet relaxes them or calms them down. St. Mary's Manor embraces
this philosophy by sharing our home with Baxter (a cat), Daisy Mae
(a rabbit), JoJo (a bird) and a few fish. Mitch, a golden retriever,
spends Fridays at the Manor.

and offer a listening ear. If you wish to volunteer your time and
energy, contact the activities director at 816-228-5655.

Food Services
Our registered dietitian plans delicious, healthy meals and therapeutic
diets for individuals. Meals are a social event for many of our residents.
Our dining room in the Residential Care Facility gives the appearance
of a nice restaurant or a formal dining room at home. It has a separate
private dining area, which can be reserved for residents to entertain
their guests. There is a roomy main dining room in the nursing facility
for those residents who are able to eat their meals unassisted. We
have an assisted dining area dedicated to those individuals who need
to be monitored closely or need total assistance. The secure care
Alzheimer's unit has their own private dining room.
|
Resident Rooms
Residents may choose private or semi-private accommodations. The little
extra touches, like wall-to-wall carpeting, wallpaper and a private
bath help make the choice more comfortable. Residents are encouraged
to bring their own furniture and special belongings to reflect their
own personal tastes.
