 A commitment to caring and a sense of family are two important goals of the Villa Saint Joseph staff. We believe the family element is of primary importance to our residents health and happiness. That's why we welcome family participation in all aspects of our residents' care. Flexible visiting hours, special family night activities, family education and support groups help Villa Saint Joseph residents and their families get the most out of life.
We make every effort to respect residents as individuals--to value their privacy and dignity. We believe Villa Saint Joseph is the resident's home, with staff members being privileged visitors who provide health care, emotional support, encouragement, stimulation and friendship. To help ensure each resident's ongoing physical, mental and emotional well being, individual care plans are developed. These plans address the specific needs, capabilities, goals and interests of each person. What's more, care plans are developed by an interdisciplinary staff team--with resident and family input--and are reviewed and revised regularly.
In addition, a staff social worker and the spiritual care director are available to help with particular concerns or problems and to ensure that psychosocial needs are met. Interdenominational religious services and Bible studies are also available. We also encourage Villa Saint Joseph residents to participate in exercise, activities and programs, including cooking, garden club, the Residents' Council, pet therapy and inter-generational programs. The special interests of residents are always taken into consideration and, whenever possible, incorporated into their daily routine.
Thanks to the continuing and coordinated efforts of caring staff professionals, volunteers and family members, residents of Villa Saint Joseph can find comfort and peace of mind in the knowledge that their health and well being are the primary concerns of others. That peace of mind, perhaps more than anything else, defines what the close to home feeling of Villa Saint Joseph is really all about.
