On Saturday, February 15, approximately 250 people attended
the Carondelet Heart Institute's Healthy Heart Expo and received
free cholesterol screening and talked with nurses and physicians
specializing in cardiology. Participants also enjoyed low-fat cooking
demonstrations and samples, free massage and fitness tips. Pharmacists
from Saint Joseph Health Center offered valuable information about
drug interactions, over the counter diet supplements and hormone
therapy. Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame Inductee, Jeff Montgomery
spoke on fitness and the role it plays in good health. Cardiologists,
Gerald Mancuso, MD, FACC and Anthony Albracht, MD, FACC provided
helpful information on cardiac and vascular wellness and new treatment
options.
