They'll be here before you know it-those crazy days
of summer. How can you make those crazy days a little safer? Carondelet
Health with the Sunset Optimists Club of Blue Springs is sponsoring
a Safety and Sports Expo on Sunday, May 4, 12;30-4 p.m. on the St.
Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs Campus.
"Summer is a prime time for injuries," says Janet Milkovich,
event planner for Carondelet Health. "This expo is a way to
bring safety to the front of our summer planning in a fun way."
There will be exhibits and giveaways, mini sports camps and a bike
rodeo. "We're getting a lot of support from the community,"
says Milkovich. "The Blue Springs Police will be running the
bike safety event and area coaches are helping with the sports camps."
Hospital employees are also contributing. Participants can attend
ER camps to learn how to treat minor injuries and learn when to
seek more extensive treatment.
"Summer is such a great family time and this expo could help
make it a safer summer."
