A Record Setting $109,000 Raised at St. Mary's Gala
On Saturday, March 1, St. Mary's Hospital and community members
celebrated a spectacular Evening Under the Stars gala complete with
a twinkling backdrop in the ballroom of the Marriott-Adams Pointe
Conference Center in Blue Springs. Gala committee members are starry-eyed
with success and for good reason. The Hospital's annual Gala set
a record, raising more than $109,000 for the hospital, an increase
of 25 percent over last year. Attendance at the black tie optional
dinner and dance filled the ballroom with more than 450 guests,
another record number. Guests enjoyed dinner and dancing to the
music of Private Stock and bid on live auction items, including
a one-month lease for a Mercedes-Benz SLK convertible and naming
rights to St. Mary's Drive.
"In this tough economy, to have been able to surpass our goal
is truly a testament to how much this community cares about St.
Mary's Hospital. " said Kate Marshall, Executive Director of
St. Mary's Hospital Foundation. "I hope all our donors know
what an important difference they make by supporting St. Mary's.
Their generosity really touches lives--just as our health ministry
is touching and changing lives everyday. It is truly a privilege
for me to work at St. Mary's Hospital. I know how different our
hospital is from others because we are mission driven, faith-based
and focused on creating a healing environment whose hallmark is
Service with Excellence."
