High blood pressure, or hypertension, and diabetes are major causes of stroke/heart attack and kidney failure. If you have these conditions you might be eligible to participate in a study.
Did you know?
- About three of every four heart attacks in diabetics are attributable to high blood pressure.
- Diabetics are seven times more likely to develop cardiovascular disease.
- 65 percent of people with diabetes in the U.S. die from heart attacks or strokes. Most are not aware of the link between diabetes and heart disease.
Those in the study will receive study-related medical exams, study medications, and laboratory tests at no cost and may be compensated for time and travel expenses. Participants must be at least 30 years old with high blood pressure and diabetes.
