Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at the Medical Mall at St. Mary's Hospital
|
Construction has started on The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at St. Mary's Hospital. It will be located on the second floor of the medical mall and is expected to up and running in July.
The center will offer all facets of wound care including hyberbaric therapy in two chambers. Wound treatment is important for diabetics, radiation patients or anyone who may be having post-operative difficulties with healing.
St. Mary's Hospital is partnering with Diversified Therapy for the center. "Diversified Therapy has a lot of experience," says Gordon Docking, CEO, St. Mary's Hospital. They successfully manage 37 wound treatment centers across the country and we welcome their expertise. The program director will be an employee of Diversified Therapy, but the rest of the employees are St. Mary's Hospital staff." Scott Kujath, MD, has been named as the medical director.
"There is a great need for this in our area," says Docking. "Right now, someone would have to drive 20-30 minutes for treatment. We strive for customer service and this center will help us to provide the best care for our patients with the convenience of having treatment close to home."
