The nursing staff has named Dr. Green St. Mary's Hospital's Physician of the Year. In the nominations, nurses repeatedly mentioned they felt Dr. Green respected their opinions. "He understands that nurses are with his patients eight to 12 hours a day and he relies on us to keep him informed."
"Dr. Green is very knowledgeable and compassionate," says another nurse. "He spends a lot of time with frightened patients and family members and calms their fears."
Many nurses describe Dr. Green as a "team player." But Dr. Green says it goes deeper than that.
"We're like a family at St. Mary's Hospital," he says. "It is a pleasure to be associated with the people here and it is really an honor to be selected physician of the year."
