Saint Joseph Health Center's Golf Classic-Playing for the Heart of It

The 17th Annual Saint Joseph Pro-Am Golf Classic, hosted by the Saint Joseph Health Center Foundation, will be held on Monday, September 27, at the Fred Arbanas Golf Course at Longview Lake. The tournament promises great golf, fantastic food and fun for a cause that is close to our hearts - the Carondelet Heart Institute.

Major underwriters for the event include ARAMARK Healthcare Support Services, Orscheln Industries, Boston Scientific, J.E. Dunn Construction Co., Bank of America, and ACI Boland. The proceeds from this year's golf tournament and auction will help provide state-of-the-art cardiovascular care that saves lives every day.

Our special thanks go to the 2004 event chairmen, Jerry Reardon and Phil Orscheln. We also wish to recognize the countless volunteers for their time and talents that contribute to every successful event.

Sponsorship opportunities are available from $500 to $20,000. The registration fee for a single player is $250. Call 816-943-2766 to make your reservations.

Leave a Legacy of Care

Several years ago, a group of Saint Joseph Health Center supporters began a society to honor those who have included Saint Joseph Health Center in their will or other type of planned or deferred gift. This group is called the Saint Joseph Heritage Society.

Members of the Heritage Society are leaving a legacy to save lives. A gift in your will or trust will support the continuation of our mission to provide compassionate, quality healthcare that leaves no one behind.

By providing for Saint Joseph Health Center in your will, trust, life insurance, annuity, IRA or other vehicle, you will maintain our calling to provide the highest level of care for those who come after us. Through estate planning you can create security for your loved ones as well as leave a lasting gift that will touch the lives of thousands of patients and their families.

We encourage you and your financial or legal advisor to call Pat Oppenheimer at the Foundation office at 816-943-2678 for more information about how a deferred gift can benefit your financial planning as well as help provide for the future of Saint Joseph Health Center.

St. Mary's Hospital Golf Tournament a Success

The St. Mary's Golf Tournament on Monday, June 21, was a rousing success with a record number of golfers - over 200 - participating in this year's event. The Foundation applauds the 2004 event co-chairmen, Paula Barry and Jane Schmitz, and the many volunteers of the St. Mary's Hospital of Blue Springs Auxiliary for their selfless contributions. This year's tournament raised $65,000, which will be used to fund education and equipment at St. Mary's Hospital and in so doing support the healthcare needs of Eastern Jackson County.
