It's becoming something of a fall tradition-a girls' day out at Saint Joseph Health Center. WOW: World of Women Health Expo is set for its third year on Saturday, October 2, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Community Center for Health and Education.
 "The event keeps evolving and we think improving," says Janet Milkovich, event organizer. "But it's still an opportunity for women to get together, relax and have some fun and learn something about their health. We learned last year that most of the attendees were between the ages of 35 and 74, so we are targeting them for our breakout sessions."
The sessions include information on heart health for women, women's health after age 35, parenting teens, plastic surgery and managing chronic pain. "We take past evaluations very seriously. These are topics women want to talk about. They can discuss the changes going on within their bodies, ask questions and learn that WOW-other people are having the same experiences."
Also back by popular demand are the exhibits, makeovers, style seminar and the massages. There will be some health screenings, including bone density but the focus isn't just on health. "We want women to learn something but we also want them to have fun," says Milkovich.
Tickets are $15 per person and include a box lunch, breakout sessions, exhibits and a gift bag. For groups of five or more, tickets are $13.50 per person. To order, call 816-943-2167.
