it comes to safety, you can't rely on the luck of the Irish alone.
That's why, for the 16th year, St. Paddy's Wagon has offered St.
Patrick's Day revelers a free cab ride home.
On a holiday like St. Patrick's Day, research shows
that all drivers have a 23 percent increased likelihood of being
injured or killed by a driver who is impaired by alcohol. That's
why Saint Joseph Health Center and Yellow Cab sponsor St. Paddy's
Wagon. All 300 of Yellow's cabs were used for the service, providing
hundreds of rides and covering thousands of miles. "Saint Joseph
Health Center is proud to offer this community service to the people
in the Kansas City metro area," says Debbie Brinkoetter, director
of Public Relations for Carondelet Health. "St. Paddy's Wagon
is just one way we demonstrate our commitment to the communities
we serve. This program supports our mission and also helps promote
a safe environment for others."
