Founding Board Members Honored by Saint Joseph Health Center Foundation
In October, the Saint Joseph Health Center Foundation brought together founding trustees and former board officers for a luncheon to thank them for their vision and leadership in creating the Foundation and helping it grow over the years. At the event, CEO and President Bruce L. Van Cleave, MD spoke about his priorities in planning for Carondelet's future.

Holiday Event Celebrates Donors, Board Members and Tenants
The Saint Joseph Health Center Foundation and Administration celebrated the holidays with a gathering of donors, members of Saint Joseph boards and medical building tenants. The December 11th event took place in the Medical Mall Atrium and featured the choirs of St. Thomas Moore and Notre Dame de Sion schools.

Charitable Giving Enhances Patient Care
Thanks to the generous contributions of our many donors, the Saint Joseph Health Center and St. Mary's Hospital Foundations help meet the needs of our patients by providing the most advanced medical technology, facilities and services for our community.
This year, the Foundations will continue to provide the means to help create our healing environment. At Saint Joseph, we will fund expansion of the Emergency Room so that, with the increasing demand for services, our patients will not have to wait long for treatment. As part of this initiative, the Foundation will provide resources for the expansion of our Pain Management Clinic and the Senior Clinic, which serves the homebound elderly. Another funding project is the Image-Guided Surgery System that will make brain and spine surgery more precise and allow patients faster recoveries.
At St. Mary's, the Foundation is providing funding for a C-Arm radiology device for the Pain Clinic which allows for the precise placement of medicine to block pain. The Foundation also helps support operating capital needs of the hospital.
In addition, both Foundations provide funding for medical assistance for the needy, educational opportunities for staff members, family care, employee assistance and other areas of need.
