St. Joseph Medical Center Celebrates
Breast Cancer Survivors Birthdays with National Speaker
Kansas City, Mo. – The community is invited to attend a special free event celebrating breast cancer survivors’ birthdays of living and loving after cancer. The Breast Center at St. Joseph Medical Center will host its annual Survivor Birthday Party on Thursday, October 10, beginning at 5:30 in the Community Center for Health and Education on St. Joseph’s campus at I-435 and State Line Road.
Julie Silver, MD, will be the special guest speaker at the celebration. Dr. Silver is a physician and associate professor at Harvard Medical School. She is an award-winning author and has written extensively on healing after waging her own battle with cancer. As a recognized leader in her field, Dr. Silver is a frequent guest on national TV shows including the Today Show, CBS Early Show, Dr. Oz and many others. She is quoted regularly by major newspapers and magazines.
Dr. Silver will present Super Healing: Maximizing Your Physical and Emotional Recovery. She’ll explore how we best heal from injuries and illnesses. Dr. Silver believes these healing tactics work for everyone, not just those recovering from cancer, so all are invited to attend,
The evening starts with a social hour starting at 5:30. Dr. Silver’s presentation begins at 6:30. A book signing will follow her presentation. Birthday cake and light hors d'oeuvres will be served. This event is free, however space is limited. Call 816-943-2584 to make a reservation.
