The St. Mary's Amputee Center provides a comprehensive continuum of care for individuals with amputations. We help make dreams possible. The center's team of physicians, therapists, prosthetists, nurses, wound care specialists and counselors assists with all phases of care including:

  • Counseling
  • Education
  • Wound management
  • Pain management
  • Individual and family support groups
  • Transition to home or other level of care
  • Prosthetic prescription and training
  • Outpatient Amputee Clinic

Members of the St. Mary's Amputee Center team include professionals from the following organizations:

Once the patient is functioning with their prosthesis, the relationship with the amputee center continues. A physician-led team will make appropriate referrals for therapy, prosthetic prescription or modification to ensure continued success. Support groups are in place to ensure emotional support. A prosthetic provider offers onsite prosthetic fittings as well as consultation, education and training.

Medicare, managed care and private insurance plans, may cover St. Mary's Amputee Center services. Call us to assist in verification of coverage for required services.

Integrity, compassion and unity are hallmarks of care at St. Mary's Rehabilitation center. The staff continually strives to provide service with excellence. Services include:

  • Amputee center's program coordinator provides screening for the individual seeking services and contacts appropriate providers to assist in the initiation of care.
  • Physiatrist, who is a medical doctor specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, oversees our amputee program
  • Using an interdisciplinary team approach, the inpatient rehabilitation center addresses physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs returning each person to the highest possible function.

In addition, our program provides:

  • Medical management by a board certified physiatrist
  • Individual programming
  • 24-hour rehabilitation nursing
  • Case management
  • Physical, occupational and speech therapies
  • Home assessments
  • Community reintegration outings
  • Transitional living apartment
  • Ongoing family training

This facility hosts several options in levels of care for the individual with an amputation.

  • Amputee clinic- Physicians, prosthetists, therapists and nurses providing team consultation on a weekly, monthly or yearly basis as needed
  • A.C.E. in Action- Education center, support groups, one-on-one care and connections to vocational, social work and pain management resources
  • Outpatient therapies- Physical, occupation and speech therapists
  • Wound care nurse specialist
  • Skilled nursing- Nursing and therapy care for individuals with acute illness.
  • Residential care apartments
  • Transition apartment
  • Long-term care- Nursing, therapy, and restorative care for patients with chronic illness

St. Mary's Manor nursing and therapy team offers longevity of services to the facility and community. St. Mary's Manor is committed to an in-house therapy staff, with an average of 12 years of professional experience.

Compassionate health care is delivers to your doorstep by Carondelet Home Care Services. Professional nursing and therapy staff with amputee expertise provide essential services to meet the individual's and family's needs.

These services include:

  • Skilled nursing- Disease process teaching, medication management, wound care, nutrition, IVs
  • Rehabilitation- Physical, occupational and speech therapies with prosthetic education and training, limb care and hygiene and skills training and education for successful functioning at home and in the community
  • Home modification and instruction for reintegration into the community

Dedicated to providing state-of-the-art outpatient clinical wound care and hyperbaric medicine is the goal at the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. We offer:

  • Team of professionals including specially trained physicians, nurses and hyperbaric technicians
  • Clinical treatment including a variety of debridement, medicine and dressing options to treat chronic wounds
  • Multidisciplinary approach with a treatment plan that addresses all aspects of each individuals condition with the goal of complete wound healing
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, utilized as an adjunctive therapy during which the patient breathes 10 percent oxygen while enclosed in a pressurized chamber
