The Child Development Center, managed by Bright Horizons Family Solutions, provides quality childcare and early education to the employees of Carondelet Health. Together we have created an environment supportive of both children and their parents. Our highly qualified faculty genuinely enjoys working with children. We have constructed our program around stimulating activities, which help children learn effective communication and problem-solving skills. Our goal is to nurture children's physical, social, emotional, intellectual and creative development.

Children We Serve and Hours of Operation
The Child Development Center operates from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We provide childcare and early education for children of Carondelet Health employees from six weeks to six years of age year round and we offer a summer camp program for school age children. For the community, we offer preschool programs for children ages two and half years and older.
Additional Programs
Bright Horizons Family Solutions provides school aged children the opportunity to enrich their summer by participating in "Our World, Our Backyard" Summer Camp. The program runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day and includes a variety of activities of interest to this age group, including field trips and visits from local community members.
School's out programs are offered when children are off school for a day or two, or at spring break and the winter holidays on a space available basis.
Children at the center enjoy a special treat when they visit the older adults at Carondelet Manor, a long-term care facility. This intergenerational experience is valuable for the children and the residents.
Philosophy and Curriculum
Children are active learners who learn best from activities they plan and carry out themselves. They are little scientists and builders, acrobats and artisans, who need active experience with the world of people and things; who need opportunities to set goals, plan, reflect and take responsibility. From birth, they are communicators who need a world filled with books, language experiences and great conversation. Our The World at their Fingertips program for learning offers each child a world rich with discovery opportunities guided by skilled and sensitive teachers who recognize each child's individual strengths, optimum opportunities to learn, and what he or she needs to succeed in school and life.
Faculty
Working in teams, the faculty at the Child Development Center provides a safe, secure and consistent environment promoting healthy development and learning. Many of our faculty has a degree in Early Childhood Education. All faculty members receive a thorough orientation in Bright Horizons Family Solutions policies and procedures and participate in on-going training.
The Facility
Built in 1992, the Child Development Center has spacious, light-filled classrooms, several outdoor play areas and all-weather indoor playroom. Interior space is divided into four "houses," each with its own infant, toddler and multi-age preschool classroom. The multi-age classroom allows children to experience a much wider and more positive range of social and educational experiences than the standard, age-segregated classroom. Since children of various ages reside in each house, siblings can stay together. The Children Development Center has its own kitchen and serves nutritious meals and snacks.
Parents are Full Partners
Parents are full partners in every aspect of curriculum: participating in creating child development profiles, helping to set goals and priorities, planning and evaluation and sustaining the learning through coordinated experiences at home. We have an open door policy, welcoming you to visit your child whenever you can.
