What are the visiting hours?
Visiting hours at St. Joseph Medical Center
are 1:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Visiting hours for the Intensive Care Unit are
8 a.m. - 2 p.m., 4 - 6 p.m. and 8 - 10 p.m.

**Labor and Delivery and Rehabilitation have individual hours.

When is the cafeteria open?

Breakfast --Hot served Breakfast at the Grill (M-F)    6:45-9 a.m. --Hot Grab & Go (M-F)7-9:45 a.m. --Continental (M-F,S-S) 6:30-10:30 a.m. --Weekend Self-Serve Bar 7-9 a.m.

Lunch --Hot Line (M-F) 11-1:30 p.m. --Pizza (M-F) 11:00-1:30 p.m. --Grill & DEli (M-F) 11-2:30 p.m. --Weekend Hot Line 11-1:30 p.m. --Weekend Grill 11-1:30 p.m. --Weekend Deli 11-2:00 p.m.

Dinner --Hot Line (M-F, S-S) 4:30-7:00 p.m. --Grill (M-F, S-S) 4:30-7:30 p.m. --Deli (M-F, S-S) Closed    (Pre-Made Sandwiches available)

Third Shift 1-2:30 a.m.

What do I bring to the hospital?

1. List of current medications with dosages. Do not bring medications.
2. List of your allergies
3. Advance Directive
4. Insurance Card, (deductibles or co-pays you might anticipate)
5. Personal care supplies for chronic conditions: ostomy pouches, incontinent supplies.
6. Slippers
7. Special pillows
8. Hearing aids with extra batteries
9. Emergency contact numbers (family members)
10. Prosthetic devices/braces, walkers, crutches.
11. Patients may bring denture cups from home, however, the medical center provides denture cups at no charge.

Items not to bring to the hospital:

1. Large sum of money
2. Credit cards
3. Jewelry of any kind. (don't even wear wedding ring, if possible)

What are the hours of the library?
The library at Saint Joseph Medical Center is available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and closed on the Weekends

How can I find a doctor and the service they provide?
Carondelet Health offers a physician referral service by calling St. Joseph Medical Center's physician referral at 816-943-2584 or 816-9HEALTH.

How can I request a chaplain?
You may request a chaplain at St. Joseph Medical Center by calling 816-942-4400.

Do you have a notary public?
For a notary public at St. Joseph Medical Center, call the Information Desk at 816-943-2768 (8 a.m.- 8:30 p.m.).

Do you have bilingual support?
Both hospitals have staff members who are bilingual and many languages are represented. At St. Joseph Medical Center, call the Information Desk at 816-943-2768.

What transportation options do I have? (taxis and buses)
The Kansas City Metro makes regular stops at St. Joseph Medical Center and St. Mary's Medical Center. For information on bus schedules, call the KCTA at 816-221-0660. Taxi service is also available.

Is there a TDD phone available?
There is a TDD phone available for the hearing impaired located in the Emergency Department Information Desk at St. Joseph Medical Center (816-943-2751).

What are the gift shop and flower shop hours?
The gift shop and flower shop at Saint Joseph Medical Center is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sundays, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Call 816-943-2776.

When is the Pharmacy open?
The Carondelet Pharmacy located in the Medical Mall at St. Joseph Medical Center is open Monday-Friday 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
