Center and St. Mary's Medical Center is a medical therapy
combining education and exercise to meet the individual need of
people with emphysema, chronic bronchitis, asthma or any chronic
lung disease.

The program is eight weeks long and meets twice
a week for two-hour sessions. Components of the program include:
- an initial evaluation of your cardiopulmonary status, lung function
and exercise tolerance
- education in chronic lung disease and correct breathing techniques
- individualized exercise program designed to build strength and
endurance

- individual evaluations
- individual pharmacy consultation
- support groups
After completing the eight-week program, you can
participate in monthly support group meetings, take part in an on-site
maintenance exercise program and continue with a home exercise program
designed just for you. Spouses or loved ones are encouraged to become
actively involved in your rehabilitation process.
In order to join the program, your physician must
write an order for Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation. For more

Not all pulmonary rehabilitation patients receive
prior treatment at St. Joseph Medical Center or St. Mary's Medical Center, nor are all their physicians affiliated with the
health center. Many pulmonary patients come here with their physicians'
blessings because of the quality of our care and convenient locations.
Whether or not your physician is affiliated with St. Joseph Medical
Center or St. Mary's Medical Center, we will work closely with him or her to tailor the right
program for you to ensure you get the best rehabilitative care possible.
