St. Mary’s Medical Center offers families who have no maternity coverage the option of predictable charges and significant savings when they participate in our self-pay maternity program. You may select one of the options listed below for delivery of your baby. With these options, you will pay a set price based on a predetermined length of time. These prices are significantly less than charges in a conventionally priced maternity care program.
Our Self-Pay Maternity Program offers you the same high-quality and personalized care that patients have come to expect at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

The pricing above applies to single birth deliveries only; please call our Business Office at 816-655-5415 for multiple birth pricing. All rates include care for both the mother and baby during labor, delivery, and postpartum, providing the baby requires normal newborn care and both mother and baby are discharged within the appropriate time period. Your short stay begins at the time of admission. The daily rate above applies if the patient must stay beyond the days included in the package price. This amount does not include any physicians’ fees (for example: obstetrician, pediatrician, radiologist, anesthesiologist, pathologist etc.)
The self-pay program applies only for admission resulting in delivery. This program does not apply to any previous visits such as stress test, observation or induction not resulting in delivery.
Payment for services must be paid in full before the time the patient is admitted for labor and delivery. We strongly recommend the patient make periodic/monthly payments starting well before the expected delivery date. Because this program was designed as a community service for persons without maternity insurance coverage and is discounted over 50%, no billing services are provided by the hospital which reduces our costs so we can continue to provide this service at these significantly reduced rates.
