ARPN – St. Joseph Neurology Associates
Description: St. Joseph Neurology Associates is seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner to assist our clinical team. The Nurse Practitioner is a key member of the practice and provides clinical leadership to make certain high quality care is delivered to all our patients
The successful candidate serves in an advanced practice role, providing comprehensive health assessments, physical examinations, and patient care. This individual will demonstrate a high level of autonomy and expert skill in the diagnosis, treatment and management of the neurology patient population. This unique provider practices collaboratively or under physician supervision to assess patient needs, plan and provide patient care and education. Additionally, this individual demonstrates exemplary judgment in initiating and reviewing laboratory and radiological studies.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Participation in rounds.
- Manages inpatients as required and assists in the smooth, efficient operations of the outpatient clinic.
- Serves as a clinical expert, providing direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and plan of care.
- Accurate and complete charting including proficient electronic medical record documentation.Evaluates the patient’s progress in achieving expected outcomes, barriers to successful outcomes and provides follow-up. Prescribes, adjusts or discontinues medications as appropriate.
- Self-directed and purposeful in seeking necessary knowledge and skills to develop and maintain competency within specialty range.
The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners, be eligible for or hold current national certification as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner and must be eligible for licensure by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

Required Experience:
- A minimum of 1-3 year experience in a physician practice is preferred.
- Neurology and Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
- Computer experience is a required, E-clinical works experience a plus.
- Ability to multi task is required.
- Effective interpersonal skills needed to maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers.
Required Education: Current APN license in the state of Missouri
